I am passionate about educating young learners and have done so in my role as a substitute teacher with the New York City Department of Education in Queens, NYC. For the past 5 years, I have also tutored students aged 12-17 in Manhattan and Queens in the AP, SAT, SSAT, ACT, SHSAT, and NY State exams in a one-on-one format in person and online, 3 to 1 format, and group classes. I constantly adapt to new changes such as the new digital SHSAT and digital SAT. I focus on teaching useful techniques to tackle each type of question that students can expect on their tests. I have a proven record of student improvement and achievement, including >100 point increase in SAT scores. I have also tutored students to improve their reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, or writing skills.
My goal is to foster a love for language in learners that not only helps them build critical skills, but also sparks their curiosity and instills confidence. I believe that every student is capable of excelling with dedication and practice, and I am committed to help my students achieve their goals. My teaching style is clear, understanding, curious, patient, encouraging, and kind.
